Its not often you meet a couple who wants to break away from the usual and wants to try something different. That is why we were so happy when Nikita and Mamik wanted to do a midnight pre-wedding photo shoot in south Bombay spots special to them.
The couple wanted something different from the usual early morning photo shoot in day light. They wanted to capture how pretty the city is late into the night. After understanding what they wanted, we decide we wanted to capture the romance of their love story and the intimacy of the time they would spend in these spots near where they grew-up and where their relationship developed. Our idea was to shoot everything in keeping with the ambience and the relaxed vibe of their night-time hangouts.
We wanted the images to feel soft, sweet, dreamy, nostalgic, and intimate. Our favourite ones are from Marine drive where we captured them in the light coming through the leaves. We love the play of light and shadows. It’s beautiful, the intimate vibe it creates and how it goes perfectly with what the couple is wearing and the night time lights on the queens necklace. They are simple and elegant pictures which have a strong emotional connection to the people involved. We at Flgroe Studios love making images like this. Simple, elegant, and pretty.
The two south Bombay business families are tying the knot in a fabulously extravagant celebration spread over 6 days in Mumbai and Goa at the end of November. IPL style stadium cricket matches, a starry Sangeet night with the city’s who’s who, charter planes full of family and friends, Rio themed carnivals, flash mob dancers, flower holi festivities, rain dances, et al. We look forward to capturing this beautiful story of love and wish the couple to have an amazing wedding.
Nikita & Mamik
One of the couple’s favourite haunts was the chai-wala outside Churchgate station.
The simple pleasures of life!
The steps that witness every south-Bombay romance!
After a romantic dinner at the Taj was where Mamik popped the question!
And Nikita said ‘yes’!
Happily ever afters!
